Flowers:

This shoot is something that we haven’t done before.  It is not just an outfit, but it has a theme and clothes no person would actually wear on a normal day.  My backyard has so many beautiful flowers, so we chose the black outfit to greatly contrast the setting.  The tutu is an element that make the shoot interesting and unique.  For many of the pictures, Maddy is literally sitting in the flowers in some of the pictures and camera angle of the shots can make the photo pleasing to the eye.  After we did the shoot, we found that Selena Gomez did a similar shot for her new music video! items: tank-top (urban outfitters); shorts (forever 21); shoes (converse)

Shorts Season:

I love summer.  The shorts, the sun, the beach, the ice cream; all of it.  Now that it is almost here, I can start dressing like its warm!  The pattern of these shorts and the texture on the tank top make a cool (Haha) combo.  I also just bought the converse which are a classic summer piece.  This outfit is clearly meant for summer…if only school could be out now!!

from top to bottom, left to right: Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia/White Jasmine & Mint; Chanel Chance; Marc Jacobs Daisy; Kate Spade Twirl

Natural Scents:

This is a photographic collection of some of my absolute favorite perfumes, that always leave me feeling fresh and lovely. Jo Malone is by far one of the best perfume brands I could ever recommend (even if it is a little pricey!). All of their scents, whether it be French Lime Blossom or Red Roses, smell just like their inspiration and offer subtle yet unmatched fragrance to the wearer. Daisy is a fresh blend of floral notes, as is Chance, which is fresh, fun, and light. Twirl is the perfect sophisticated perfume to wear for a simple night out, without smelling like the entire perfume department!

items: denim chambray (H&M), floral dress (Brandy Melville), floral socks (Forever 21), shoes (Vans), silver snake ring (Brandy Melville)

Outfit: Springtime Skating

It has certainly been heating up here, so it seemed like the appropriate time to bring out this Brandy Melville floral cutout dress!  It is a fun, playful dress and the cutout is perfect for warm weather!  The denim chambray works as a nice, lightweight jacket, and the Vans are perfect for skateboarding!

Style Inspiration: Nauticality

For me, blue is the best color. So what better way to express it with fun, fresh, nautical-inspired looks? Breton stripes are always a classic pattern, and anchors are becoming more and more popular every day. Now that it’s heating up, the sandals and wedges have got to come out, and adding a navy flair or beachy vibe can really bring out the summer taste in an outfit. Not to mention that summer calls for some cute, seaside bikinis!

Spring Layering:

Spring Weather can be pretty unpredictable (at least where we live), so it’s always a good idea to wear lots of layers.  That way you will be prepared for cool mornings and hot afternoons.  If you are new to layering, this is an easy formula that will always look great for this type of weather:

–a flowy shift dress (it’s loose, pretty, and versatile)

–a fun bandeau/bralet (to wear under the loose dress)

–a structured jacket (to keep warm in the morning; also, the structure juxtaposes the flouncy dress)

You can also add:

–fun sunglasses (round ones are great)

–boots or sandals (depending on the weather)

Most of these items are from Free People and Brandy Melville if you want to find them!

Summer Wish List:

I am so excited for summer when you can wear skirts and shorts and dresses without being cold. Well, actually its pretty foggy here most of the time… Anyway, these are the clothes that I would LOVE to have if I went on a shopping spree!

items: boots (Madden); pants (Target); tank (Tilly’s); lace shirt (Urban Outfitters); jean jacket (Target); belt (Gap)

Outfit: Flowers, Denim, and Lace

This outfit is thoroughly influenced by spring. The floral pants, lace shirt, and jean jacket each add in interesting element to the outfit due to the contrast of fabric. I love these pants because not only is the pattern amazing, they are also high waisted!  This outfit isn’t flashy at all, but still can make the wearer stand out.  Overall, it is cool, casual, and cute!

Ahhhh… Spring Break:

School was out for entire week, and whether you simply relaxed or traveled someplace exotic, everyone enjoyed themselves.  I went to the beautiful island of Kauai, which was full of thunderstorms, jungle fowl(chickens), reggae music, and many many mosquito bites.  I picked the most spectacular pictures to share with you, so please enjoy them!!  These include many beaches , stunning water falls, and incredible green valleys, not to mention a few silly ones! I know that this isn’t a fashion post, but my photos from the trip turned out to be amazing, so I wanted to make your day!

THE BEST PLACES TO BUY RINGS:

1. Flea Markets:
flea markets and antiques faires often have some of the best rings.  These places are full of rings and many are vintage or hand-crafted, depending on the vendor.

2. Brandy Melville: this brand has many pretty and creatively-designed rings for very reasonable prices.  They also have rings that are great for stacking.

3. Modcloth: this website has loads of cute and unique rings.  They are slightly more expensive, but are worth it.

4. Urban Outfitters: even though they are more expensive, this store has AMAZING rings!
